NVU Futsal
What is Futsal?
Futsal is played on a hard court smaller than a soccer field and mainly indoors. It has similarities to five-a-side soccer but is played with touchlines as boundaries and no use of walls or boards. A Futsal ball is smaller and has less bounce then a soccer ball. The surface, ball and rules favor ball control and passing in small spaces. The game emphasizes control, improvisation, creativity and technique.

Competition

Why Sign Up For NVU’s Winter Futsal Program?
Participating in our Futsal program is a great way for players to continue their development during the Winter off-season. Futsal emphasizes control, improvisation, creativity and technique all of which can greatly enhance a player's performance in soccer.
All training and games will be indoors so there will be no weather cancellations. We’re very fortunate to have secured George Mason’s state of the art Linn Gym facility for all of our practice sessions.
Training sessions and games will be coached by NVU Academy Coaches. Games in the St. James Futsal League will either take place at The St. James in Springfield or nZone in Chantilly.
NVU Futsal Rosters
Our Futsal rosters will have a maximum of 12 players. 12 players can be rostered for each game.
St. James Winter Futsal League
